And thus begins Akane tragedy...

Aqua is here for rescue..it's really sad how social media can become toxic to this extent!!

and Ruby Kana interactions are always fun..Ruby ego-searching lol
Ruby chan cute

MeguminExplosion • 11 months ago

How many people egosurfing on gogo. Dont lie.

People need to get off social media. Studies have shown that social media is affecting kids mental health. Even facebook knew but ignored it. interesting stuff I find as a nurse.

Im sure Aqua intervened because as a doctor he knew mentally she was in a dark place as he had prior education and could piece 1 and 2 together.

RAM • 11 months ago

Whoa...IKR I was thinking the same way too, some questions in the related to pediatrics and it's one of biggest problem in the states right?

Distured thought process r/t role confusion or risk for injury r/t suicidal for akane

Just be vigilant and ignore negativity

Another shorthair syndrome :(

Most of the social media hate they show in media is Twitter I'd say. Still tho, Japanese twitter doesn't show a bit of mercy huh.

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

That, and irl. Japanese bullies are in a league of their own. They have a reputation for a reason.

Pheonix • 5 months ago

You do realize this comment is hypocrisy at its finest, right?

さとう🍬 • 11 months ago

What should we do cry and be sad or join them

Nikko Sisou • 10 months ago

put them in the ground while hog tied, or into a blender to feed their dogs afterward :D

Aries thezodiac • 10 months ago

Fight back.

Kirito • 11 months ago

That's probably why most of the japanese people PFP in picture is like not their face probably

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

You can't ignore it. Social media has become such an intrinsic part of our lives that one can't keep tabs on what's going on around them, or make a living without it. It's even worse for people in the entertainment industry. An entertainer's career lives or dies on their online and real life reputations. That's one of the reasons it's so bad in the US, among other things. Also, what does shorthair syndrome have to do with this discussion? It's a condition that mostly affects babies isn't it?

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 11 months ago

Öhhh :o he was a pediatric doc :O I forgot that :O

I would say, "How could you have forgotten this?" But tbh I didn't make the association that he must've figured her mental state out... I thought he was just coincidentally there when she tried to jump off.

Clown of Despair • 11 months ago

Who would go out in a typhoon? He probably read her message, got worried and went out to check on her, and met her coincidentally.

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 11 months ago

He was going out to get some milk too :3

Billy Bob • 11 months ago

he was going out for a pack of smokes then he remembered he's not the dad

Kirito • 11 months ago

Yeah dying cool

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

Considering the medium that this story is being told in, I'd more expect your idea just for the sake of plot convenience.

SupremeWaffle2021 • 11 months ago

He definitely knew beforehand, but he's not a paediatric doctor.

SupremeWaffle2021 • 11 months ago

I'm pretty sure he's a gynaecologist (however you spell that) which is why he was intended to deliver Ai's babies and was the one who diagnosed her as pregnant. It was even mentioned later on.

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 11 months ago

yeah I remember that. But why did he also take on the teenage one with cancer??? Or did her uterus have cancer??? I dunno how this works but it's just odd.

InsomniacZombie • 11 months ago

I don't think he ever did actually have her as a patient. Wasn't he a trainee at the time? I think she was a patient he just interacted with a lot, probably while doing his placement (I forget what it's specifically called for doctors) before he specialised.

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 11 months ago

Hmmm… I think I know what u mean. In Germany it’d be called like ‘Assistentarzt’ after they’ve finished their 2. Staatexamen. So like rotation…
I’d NEVER imagined a freaking doctor spending so much time with a patient though. But idk how it is in rural Japan… So it’s possible…

RaithKimAhli • 11 months ago

Because it is what's an Obsgyn doctors do. The "Obs" part deals with pregnancy and labors (obstetric), while the "Gyn" part deal with anything concerning female genitalia (gynaecology). His position to the teenager is probably a consultant for pediatric department, hence the underage. Source: trust me I'm a doctor.

MicaXIII • 11 months ago

according to the english summary and any translation I've seen he's a gynecologist
but being a pediatrician would make a whole lot more sense based on what we've seen him do as a doctor,
so it's either some translation issue, a difference in what doctors do what in Japan compared to the US (and Europe at large as far as I know) or the mangaka not knowing which doctors do what.

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

I legit thought he was a general country doctor.

Kirito • 11 months ago

That's probably why aqua knows that akane would be here or he was looking out for akane like what she will do

Dbz Directioner • 11 months ago

Yeah I am pretty sure as soon as he read that she going outside in a typhoon, he knew that she is having Suicidal thoughts. It would be good if in the next episode they show this entire scenario from Aqua's perspective. It would be interesting.

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

I don't think that would be a good idea. It'd take attention off of the one actually suffering and lessen the impact of her story.

samuel • 11 months ago

it wouldn't, it would simply be a nice sherlock holmes episode

Aries thezodiac • 11 months ago

I respectfully disagree.

maged emam • 11 months ago

since he was narrating about the internet not dropping the drama he was prolly following and egosurfing and on seeing the extreme comments and her not responding to the group chat he stalked her to make sure she is alright

Amadeus • 11 months ago

Social Media was objectively a bad thing for Humanity.

Cursed1217 • 11 months ago

Honestly sometimes feel that social media shouldn't be allowed for juvenile usage. The same studies you mentioned more or less state that the areas of the brain that are developing, especially in preteens and teens, that deal with addressing emotions and social conformity/role are something like 4x as vulnerable to the toxicity of social media than would be seen in an individual in their mid 20s or older. Add in the addicting nature of social media that the episode touched on with Ruby and Kana's discussion of egosurfing. (Also magnified more so in teens than in older age groups.)

Billy Bob • 11 months ago

yup you when social media execs won't let their children go on social media, you know it's really bad

Destic • 11 months ago

This happens a lot in the disqus community...

Kaidoscope • 11 months ago

do you mean egosurfing on gogo or people who egosurf that are also on gogo? anyway, is thinking that ive created something epic egosurfing because i tend to look at my latest cool drawing and just kind of admire it

MeguminExplosion • 11 months ago

Egosurfing on gogo is more like being heavily influenced by what other people think of you. In example, looking at your comment likes, internalizing and getting too emotionally when a troll comments, getting offended by a person with a different opinion who happens to call out your opinion that elicits a negative reaction from you.

Dbz Directioner • 11 months ago

Don't worry I am sure that most of us on Gogo knows to just Avoid the trolls. I mean many times I see some comments like telling others to "Just die or something". but they usually just leave this kinds of comments alone.

Kaidoscope • 11 months ago

when i ever get that negative reaction, i usually rant too long, and when i finish typing it out or just at some point, i'll be like "this is dumb"
im sure theres no one in the world who i would react to the same way as a fly in the bathroom

kirizakunojack • 11 months ago

Less egosurfing because we'll I never cared about popularity I do check likes but that's more because I want to see if people agree with me

Higheye • 2 months ago

I hopped off Facebook 2.5 years ago, it's been the best choice in my adult life. I was always stressed out and shit. I even stopped watching the news and reading news papers, because there's just too much bad stuff happening all over.

I am depressed enough as is, I can do without other stressors.

Y2JaKe85 • 9 months ago

Yeah social media is one of the worst things to happen to humanity

Timbeans • 10 months ago

facebook hired neuroscientists, psychologists, etc to make sure it would be physically addicting..

Car guy enjoyer • 10 months ago

Not only kids, but also adults can have mental illness because of social media. I've seen many adults going to psychologists because of that.

Zayu • 11 months ago

i use facebook too but mostly for messaging my family and follow some actors or gaming related stuff and watch short clips comedy related, the last time i posted something on my facebook account was 5 years ago xD and i have the account from when they launched facebook.

Law • 11 months ago

Worst part is that parents introduce it to their children from the youngest age possible. Anytime I say anything about it to those I know I always get ignored.

art for everyone • 11 months ago

The sad reality ;) and we always fall for it ...even though we shouldn't listen to those toxic comments .
And yeah Ruby and Kana XD lol why can't they be best friends ? XD i love them both :3

Anime & Rutabagas • 11 months ago

Toxic comments really don't affect me they just makes me laugh lol

Judgment526 • 11 months ago

Me facing internet toxicity be like, “Bring it on!” 🖕
